Blue Butterfly Smoothie

Brilliant blue antioxidant smoothie
Prep Time 10 minutes
Servings 2 people


  • 1 tbsp Butterfly pea flower powder
  • 1.5 cups blueberries (frozen or fresh)
  • 0.5 lemon freshly squeezed
  • 2 bananas frozen or fresh
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups milk or milk substitute. (For a lactose-free smoothie, we recommend macadamia, oat, almond, or coconut beverage.)
  • 1 tbsp organic, unpasteurized honey. Try lavender or blueberry honey
  • 0.5 tbsp matcha


  • Blend all ingredients. Garnish with a few fresh blueberries


The butterfly pea flower, plucked from the vine of the clitoria ternatea (also known as Asian pigeonwings), can be brewed as a tea or add the raw powder directly to your smoothie. The flower creates a beautiful blue, edible dye that can change shades if you alter the pH level by adding lemon or lime.
